Child, Youth, and Family Crisis Team (CYFCT)

What is CYFCT?

The Child, Youth, and Family Crisis Team (CYFCT) is a voluntary, crisis outreach team with the ability to respond to and provide crisis services in the community (e.g., homes, schools, shelters, juvenile courts). Length of service and crisis stabilization can last up to 8 weeks of stabilization services. Services come at no cost to the family/youth.

Who does CYFCT serve?

The team serves youth and children who are experiencing a behavioral health (mental health and/or substance use) crisis regardless of their funding source. This service is available to anyone 20 years old or younger who is physically located in Snohomish, Skagit, and Whatcom counties and is experiencing a behavioral health crisis or is in a pre-crisis situation that seems to be deteriorating without intervention and could result in a behavioral health crisis.

Approach to care

CYFCT offers short-term crisis intervention and stabilization services utilizing strength-based, solution-focused, culturally competent, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented interventions, with a client-centered approach that tailors care to the unique needs and circumstances of each individual.

Goal of CYFCT

CYFCT consists of a group of behavioral health professionals, including crisis clinicians, and certified peer counselors, who collaborate with the individual in crisis and their family members to develop a plan. The plan focuses on getting through the current crisis, managing future crises, and moving towards recovery.
